The Garden

So there is this massive garden on the west side of the property. I need to get rid of it and level it just to put in a temporary fence. When we moved in rows of corn, zucchini and a grape vine were to be enjoyed. The garden is huge, as a guess measuring 100' by 30'. I don't really care to actually go and measure it. It is surrounded by large logs and old fence boards. Some logs so big I had to half them to move them. I piled them all up against a big tree in the back yard and will buck them up one day. It also had two large compost areas, one made of old fence boards and the other large railroad ties. I had to buck those up just to lift them into my truck.

Once all the frames were removed I was left with earth, tilled high rows of earth. I was going to get a back hoe in to level it all, but it would have been a mud bog. So I rented a tiller and tilled it, this was not easy task, the weeds were massive plugging the tiller blades which needed to be cleaned out every so often. The tiller had to run on the top of each row, it took all day and several cross tilling to get it somewhat level again.

Just above the compost area was a rock area or boulders, I had to clear all these out too, 30 or so boulders later I could only pile them up in the backyard with the logs. Not sure what I will do with them yet, a small fire pit for sure.

Rocks and logs still to be dealt with
